Q: Hello, I was searching for GSM phone with additional encryption capability, however most solution that available requires data plan. May I check whether the CP 300 voice encryption can be use for subscrible with non data plan?
A1: It is not the Cryptophone itself that requires the data plan, but sometimes the network operators do so. If you change your operator it might be possible that you can use your Cryptophone without any data plan. Pls. refer to your local offers in Singapore. We are working in countries where you just put the SIM card into your Cryptophone and everything works fine without data plan and without any additional costs. But also we know countries where you have to sign up for a separate data plan (that sometimes even comes with a different number).
A2: we are glad to inform you that GSMK CryptoPhones have been successfully tested in Singapore. You are not required to subscribe to a specific data plan, as encrypted calls are billed by the minute just like regular unencrypted calls.
